operating systems:

cobbled together by the quarreling + squabbling ski school directors of yesteryear
Go on! Have a slice of outdated and faulty software.
WEDGE->
Primary Posture -> Snow Plow/Pizza/Wedge & French Fries
Mode -> Forward Edge Drive
Major Quadrant -> Forwards/ Side to Side/ Uphill
Snow Contact Terms -> Carve/glide
specs:
Skis form a wedge shape through bending and turning knees inward thereby thrusting the feet/boots outward. The tips are kept together and the base of the ski is held at a constant angle to slope.
Emphasis on keeping constant firm edge bite on snow ->Inside/Inside edge
Only tool available to a beginner to slow down in a failsafe situation.
Both inside edges are locked into holding force upon the snow. Users must maintain unrelenting focus on the area near the tips and physical exertion to hold this posture.
Primary Movement Pattern is side to side.
Always facing downhill - lack of adequate peripheral vision

Ski poles are not given any specific role to play for the user during the onboarding process.
Upper body muscles and joints are not called upon for use during the Wedge learning phase.
Transition of the turn phase node in Wedge is rendered faulty in effect by using the Stem method. The beginner has to use a “band-aid” functional action to allow for a turn. We call this The Pizza Rattle.
The Hockey Stop is continually reinforced into the mind of the beginner as the definitive way to stop in Edge Drive Mode. For the beginner it is presented as a goal and therefore must be attained at a later time.
Programming of WEDGE EDGE drive OS is called upon by skiers for speed, control, and safeguard situations in long time adherents. It lurks under the surface and creates the wrong reaction in a potentially deadly situation.
re-designed for now + tomorrow by us

safety->
Primary Posture -->Safety
Mode --> Diagonal Drift Drive
Minor Quadrant --> Diagonal axis/ Downhill/ Backwards
Snow Contact Terms --> drift /slip/schmear/shuffle/ ramble/ fanning/glide
specs:
Skis form a “Y Shape” by thrusting uphill ski to a 90 degree position while the tail is placed at a shoulder width distance from the downhill boot.
The Body aligns into a pentagonal- 5 pt star as the head represents the top, the two arms outstretched with poles lightly planted are two upper points.
The skis represent the lower points of the star and align with a reflective pentagonal pattern superimposed on the slope.
Safety: the core engine of MTN 2.0 for skiers.
The strength of the posture is derived from the 5 Points holding a relaxed but ready position.
Base of skis are given emphasis - edges are used economically - edge (grip bite contact) is poised to act when Mind prompts.
Edge contact therefore behaves as a softer (bite/grip) with advantage of being acted upon with immediate and predictable/ reliable outcome.
Poles are enlisted to keep the player/user in stasis by providing secondary diagnostics by feel - balance check + “anti-lock” braking when the edge bite or edge drive is compromised.
Poles are used to hold positions while upper body muscles and joints act to power the drive of the user when necessary.
Soft contact is a surface skim - (lemon zest or schmear of cream cheese) rather than a slice of pressure contact with immutable (dynamic) wedge.
