why even do this to yourself?
EDGE DRIVE 😡
right?!
it doesn’t make any sense when you look at it from outside as most do
the way most people get into this “elite” activity is thru legacy transference or a dynamic transformative process
otherwise🖕 it!
a) doesn’t look like fun to learn
b) it doesn’t look especially interesting when done by ‘experts” (maybe in 1996 it did for a minute)
c) very inaccessible in numerous contexts
d) huge time + money investment for low rewards
e) the way they do it looks robotic, boring, and in all fairness just a masked version of normal life grind mindlessness
f) you warren miller
g) hivemind gatekeeper status quo matrix like agents amuck - look for next time u r out they are there when you deviate significantly from their master program
but again why do this? first —-> let’s examine the end game of those who practice in 1.0 OS mode ——-> EDGE DRIVE
hurry up to get down to repeat actions of side to side turns over and over and over until obligatory lunch break to $pend and waste valuable time and continue same actions of turny turn turns.
br3akdown:

extreme everything bro!
the un-implied yet unavoidable goal in skiing 1.0
Chasing after & maintaining acquired + perceived status?
don’t forget speed/big air/carving clinics/local IPA consumption

when u resist —> reality resists u
the more u resist -> the less u c it
resistance is manifested in the belief in the need for effort
your internal + physical resistance in a snowplow on the slopes is exactly the same resistance you experience in your daily life…
hey guess what?
there is no race
there is no hierarchy status game
there is no ticking clock (well maybe on I-80)
there is no limit to what we can create together (my favorite)
those legacy folks who wish to upgrade their cognitive software OS have the option to do so… it’s available and will be installed later tonight.
that being said -> here is why you should do this in your amazing life…
there is absolutely nothing quite like this experience + feeling available in our world.
what’s more is that when you upgrade your slope OS to drift drive and give up resisting - it transfers over to the normal world. think about that…

The ski industry is famously broken and toxic. The results of this design project posits that everything you know in the culture and industry of mountain snow sports is wrong. No one talks about tho
That post war
adrenaline monger

mucho bro culture.
Dying… right in front of me.
I actually care very much about this culture - it created my identity while the MTN nurtured me. I don’t want it to go away. The way I see it now is that this culture who came to shun my presence has no choice but to allow this to exist from now on. Ironically, it will eventually come to depend on it.
The collaborative culture I uploaded into existence with my friends is quietly congruent with the dominant culture. The tenets of the new culture are economic growth, fostering human potential and cleaning up the damaging downsides of the dominant culture. Not by challenging it directly - but by simply being the change.
The trick to this is drawing a line and keeping it in check. Through embodiment of certain boundaries and physically (quite literally at times) holding the line - I was able to focus on the outsider. You know them - the lowly novice/beginner (green circle) who struggles to find their bearings and stay safe in this microcosm. My new intention was to make everything all about them and in doing so, I became one of them again.
The fear and insecurities of people who bravely enter into this activity are completely ignored by
the industry. This photo completely encapsulates what that is. I learned this through my legacy
experience as a skiing parent.
This experience was pure magic. Every moment of it. The best moments of my career came from seeing and focusing on something that I never considered at all during my time as a competitive-minded skier. What made it truly imperative to me was witnessing my daughter's intense struggle during an incident in learning as a beginner. I had a notion at the time that I was equipped to teach her but I was mostly powerless to assist when she needed me most. This, ultimately, was the gateway for me to begin to help others instead of pushing an agenda of what I thought I should be doing.

Reasons Why to choose our Brand:
Malware MSI teaching will give you a false sense of who you are on the MTN/or Grind. Whether PSIA lesson was agreeable or disastrous - it means that you will do what a pledge does for a fraternity or sorority for status: subject yourself to danger, ridicule, affirmations of lower self esteem, a period of being a clown (not the scary kind)
Our brand is built upon progress from learning from failures and insights by exclusion after working as both insider and outsider in mountain towns and the big city grind. We get it.
We understand the situation from multiple viewpoints and we have bona fide solutions. One thing that highlights the brand is that we are not seeking accolades from the good ‘ol boy network in the MSI.
Our brand knows that the Novice is the heart of skiing - contrary to the mainstream voices of the industry who are internalizing the notion that they are experts.
We are definitely not trying to sell you the promise of the Expert as the end game of all this hassle to get good at something that is not very enticing in the way it is currently presented in the media. The Novices are seen by the controlling culture of “Experts” in the MSI as the butt of jokes.* Their insider culture speaks to you with a language peppered arcane terms and layer the experience with fine print. Any inquiry into why they propose that their way is the only way is met with a tone of attitude that is very inhibitive to positive change.
This keeps the novice in their clutch w/o a backup plan and pushed/coerced into a serious investment with many implications. A bad experience in Day 1 can set up a thought program pattern of failure w/ no chance/desire to redeem. Failure/Quitter/ Fool to spend that kind of $ is unaware of the stakes involved at this level. Search engines offer no viable alternative as other methods ultimately derivative of MSI dogma and are beholden to status quo to keep the income stream. Our method comes from a loop hole
in the status quo. Archived, edited , re-formulated/engineered/ re-designed for the most unlikely of demographic.
-------------------------------------------------------Yes. This is a loophole that allows us to start over. FIS has no claim to this style of skiing and PSIA are a corrupt union that won't allow a fracking of their pyramid scheme their teaching method has merits, it just takes you to dead end cul-de-sac while they screw their own workforce in the process.
Our methods are more subdued. Our brand’s social approach and our character differs enough from MSI to be seen as distinct and yet not distant. It has legs of its own being a standalone system that is complex enough to be whatever the skier/rider needs it to be.
It exists congruently with the familiar structures of the slope area/ teaching institutional codes. Both systems can deliver a skier/rider willing to do the work to the similar destination.
However the journey taken with the green circle lens/ map route is a way that has a way of unexpectedly showing you it is a fit - you happened to be missing something in your life and it found you.
It challenges you to be the best EASY skier you can be. The old system rushes people and botches the steps of learning and puts people into an unprepared state of fear and inefficiency.
